André Araújo (Porto, 1999) is a Portuguese artist, musician and researcher.
With a Bachelor's degree in Jazz at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel (Belgium) and a Master's degree in Contemporary Artistic Creation from the University of Aveiro, he is currently pursuing a PhD in Artistic Creation at the University of Aveiro, School of Music and Performing Arts (Porto), School of Media Arts and Design (Porto), School of Arts and Design (Caldas Da Rainha).
His practice is guided by an interdisciplinary research that crosses social sciences methodologies and artistic strategies as a relational, sensorial and reflexive potential, framed in the
symbolic relationship between memory and place, by a critical, artistic and political sensibility.
Through the exploration of the Archive's resonances, his work, which reflects a technical and technological non-linearity, has been presented in several exhibitions in institutions, museums and galleries in Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia, Lisbon, Odemira, Aveiro, Vila Verde, Viseu and Washington.
Araújo is currently developing the project “Along Blurred Lines”, in which he explores the repositioning of memory in the borderlands through sensorial experiences.
